Windows 95/98/ME/ NT/ 2000:

  • WeatherView32 - WeatherView32 is a full featured software package for Windows which offers broadcast quality graphics and slideshows in its most premium version. It is the only software reviewed which uses the GIF format, which saves download time and makes better looking graphics for the web. It is also the only software reviewed which has the full Climatological database so you can populate your web page with local Normals and Records along with your own weather data. It also can create Sky Conditions through METAR retrieval and has text file and HTML page upload, as well as HTTP file retrieval, Email, and Pager delivery. A very expensive, yet very powerful program for you weather station.

 

  • Weather Connection - Note: The company, TriWeather Ware has been shutdown. Software available for shareware soon. A nice basic program, which displays all weather variables at once in full color including gauges, graphs and text. Builds a complete Microsoft Access(tm) database for endless graphing and trend analysis.

 

  • WeatherWeb Connection - Note: The company, TriWeather Ware has been shutdown. Software available for shareware soon. Like Weather Connection, but want to upload weather data to a website? WeatherWeb Connection can upload your weather reports automatically to your web site on your own customizable html or JAVA page, email local weather reports or notify you of a weather alarm plus it  includes the features of Weather Connection. 

  • Home Run Weather - Note: The company, TriWeather Ware has been shutdown. Software available for shareware soon. Home Run Weather. . . . It's a hit! This unique weather software acts as a phone-based weather station for call-ins using your own WAV files and your customized text (like the phone company's time and temperature number).   • WeatherStation - WeatherStation can collect and log weather data, format and upload the data into an HTML page, and generate trend graphs. May also be used with a video camera, to take a snapshot and upload it to the web.

 

  • Weather Logger - If you're a serious weather watcher, you're looking for a simple, easy to use program to read the data from your WX200 / WM-918, display it in an easy-to-read format, and store the data on your hard drive in an easy-to-use format. Then you want Weather Logger. Weather Logger eliminates the fluff and glitz and gives you the weather data you need. The weather data is displayed on one text screen or one of five graph screens. The data is also logged to the hard disk in space delimited text format. Two types of logging are supported: Almanac (maximums and minimums stored once every 24 hours) and Observation (current weather stored once every user selected time interval - see below). Either logging mode may be active, or both at once.Weather Logger has five graphs, which  allow you to dynamically see the past 24 hours of weather at a glance.

 

  • W2 (FREE) -  Displays the current conditions in text form, creates a user-designed web page containing the current conditions, creates graphs  covering the last 24 hours, the last 5 days and the last year, logs data in an msAccess database and  comma delimited text file for further analysis, and sends the graphs and web page to a web server on a user specified schedule using FTP.   • Weather Display - Weather Display is a program that can update a internet page with a html table and a graph. Rainfall values are stored independently from the WM-918. It creates a log file every minute, from which the average and extreme values can be calculated for any month at any time. Easily
    configurable.

 

  • WeatherView - Basic software to log and display weather data from the WX200 or WM-918 weather stations. Usually can be bought or comes with weather station.

 

 

  • FreeWX (FREE)  - FreeWX is a freeware (for non-commercial use) program for logging and displaying weather data from the WM-918 / WX-200 weather stations. FreeWX is a 32 bit Windows application for the PC and has been run successfully under Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows NT (SP6a). 

    • HTML (Web) page generation using embedded tags.
    • FTP uploading of the generated web page to your website.
    • Email weather data with multiple recipients and multiple attachments supported.
    • User configurable logging and almanac with automatic monthly archiving and rollover.

  • WeatherUpdate (FREE)  - WeatherUpdate is intended to be used with Davis Monitor II, Oregon Scientific WM-918, and WMR-968. It manages all the communication to and from the weather station hardware and exports the current conditions to a varity of services and software. It can upload the current conditions to the Internet via via www.wunderground.com. It is written in Python and should run anywhere where Python is installed.

 

  • Web-WX (FREE) (7.26 MB) - Web-WX  is capable of retreiving data from WX-200 and WM-918 weather stations and displaying this data on various screens. The software is also capable of generating a HTML page with the users selected weather data up to his/her web site via FTP file transfer. Web-Wx has alphanumeric paging support so weather data can be sent as a text message to a pager, it can log data and has a wide range of graphing capabilities. Download includes Visual Basic source code, and OCX files. Note: there is no support for this program.

 

  • WSWin32 (English & German) - Supports the operation with Wireless-Interface WS2000-PC/WMR-900H (from ELV, Huger, Conrad, Westfalia) or Weatherstations WMR-918/WM-918 (Huger) WMR-968 (OSI). See website for more information and features.

 

  • SBWeather  - A full-featured client for the Radio Shack WX-200 weather station. Supports LAN/Internet connectivity to allow you to broadcast your weather data to every computer in your house (or even onto the Internet!).
    • Client/Server support. You can connect one machine (server) to the WX-200 itself, and share the weather data amongst many computers (clients) in your house connected by a LAN.
    • Better visual layout. This is a subjective matter, but I like mine better! :)
    • Elimination of extraneous programs -- the default software includes a bunch of stuff for downloading weather information from a pay service which really isn't necessary for most users.
    • Almanac: SBWeather will record weather data over time and allow you to view it at your leisure.

  • AccuWeather For Windows (FREE) - AccuWeather's software provides a graphical display of weather conditons, logs data in an almanc, and has 24hr graphs. You may also retrive weather maps, forecasts, and conditions from AccuWeather if you subscribe to their service.

MAC

  • XTension (FREE) - Recieve weather data from your WX200/WM918 weather station on a mac useing an applet.

 

  • WeatheRecMac (FREE)- Display all values every 10 seconds, processe all ALARM messages with sound, graphic display that looks just like the actual weather sation display, record all values and additional user comments to databases at different time intervals, displays colorful graphs for temperature out, humidity out, barometer, wind and rain, and the graphs can be easily adapted to local and seasonal conditions.

 

  • WX-200 (FREE) - Display weather conditions from your WX200/WM918 weather station.

 

  • Wx Reporter (FREE)  - Weather Reporter 200 was developed to monitor and display the weather data packets that are transmitted by the Radio Shack WX 200 Electronic Weather Station or equivalent weather stations.

 

  • Wx Almanac (FREE)  - Weather_Almanac, a companion program to Weather Reporter 200, offers graphical plots of the files created by Weather Reporter 200. These include High/Low daily records and daily logs of weather parameters.

 

  • WeatherUpdate (FREE)  - WeatherUpdate is intended to be used with Davis Monitor II, Oregon Scientific WM-918, and WMR-968. It manages all the communication to and from the weather station hardware and exports the current conditions to a varity of services and software. It can upload the current conditions to the Internet via via www.wunderground.com. It is written in Python and should run anywhere where Python is installed.

 

  • XASTIR (FREE)  - is an APRS™ program that is Open Source and free to use and pass out to others. It uses GPS tracking/maps and Amateur Radio to convey position reports, messaging, weather, and much more. Currently this program is in development and should not be seen as a finished product!

 

  • WLink (FREE) - Fully customizable graphical user interface for displaying weather data on your computer. Other features include: alarms, archiving, scritable, balloon help, and more.

Unix/Linux

  • WX (FREE) - A program by Mike Wingstrom for Linux and Xwindows that displays some of the WX-200 data.
    Includes source code. Requires xforms 0.87 and is included in this archive.

 

  • WX200D (FREE) - wx200d is a weather station data collector and server daemon for the WX200 / WM918 weather station hardware. wx200d can log weather data to (optionally compressed) files. It also listens for client connections and tees the data out to those clients. Clients (included) can connect to wx200d from any machine and display the weather in real-time. Includes utilities for summarizing and plotting the data by hour, day or month and producing web pages.

  • gwx (FREE)  - gwx is a graphical GTK+ client for the wx200d(8) weather station server. It is unique in that it looks and feels like the real WX200 weather station hardware. An interactive, resizable picture of the hardware displays the current weather conditions in a window. Simply click the buttons to browse the weather data as you would on the real weather station.

  • JWX200 (FREE)- Click here to download (3.1 MB) - A java based program which displays weather data in text and graphical formats, it retrieves weather data over the internet, stores weather data in a file, and alrams can be set up when certain weather conditions occur. DOS

  • DOS WX200 (FREE) (4.47 KB)-  QBASIC source code to use with a WX200/Wm918 weather station in DOS.

 

  • WIND - Graphical display of the data from a WM918/WMR918. Stores the data in a file. Included are programs to convert the data to a spreadsheet ready file and a htm and jpg graph file, with FTP uploader/dialer (the later 2 files are for Win9x systems).
